Students starting a new Winter Session or Year Round residence contract in January move in at the beginning of Winter Session Term 2.

Who moves in on this date?
Students with a January contract start date who are moving into any of our residence areas—Winter Session, Year Round or Student Family residence—might move in on this date.
How do I get to UBC and check in?
If you’re moving in on this date, watch for an email from us in late December with detailed Move In Day information and arrival instructions for your residence.
Note: we’ll email you at the email address listed in your profile on the SHCS Online Service Centre, so please double check to make sure it’s correct and up-to-date.
If you do not receive an email by January 2, please email move.in.day@ubc.ca.
Be aware that the Student Housing Main Office is typically closed between December 25 and January 1 (inclusive). The Winter Break schedule is posted on our contact us page prior to the break.

There are two official Move In Days annually each May—one for students moving into Year Round residence and one for students moving into Summer residence.
