Iona House is a small, charming and relaxed residence community located in the iconic Iona Building, which once housed the Vancouver School of Theology. Today, in addition to Iona House residence, this building is home to the UBC School of Economics. Located near a number of other residence communities and recreation, social and academic facilities, Iona House residents have access to many nearby residence and campus amenities.

    We strive to be a “Zero Waste” campus. Iona House has a large sorting area with collection bins for household trash, recyclables, e-waste, and charitable donations.

    Basketball, tennis courts, playing fields and beaches are easily accessible. Nearby Pacific Spirit Regional Park has over 35 kilometres of multipurpose trails to explore.

    Residents have access to a campus medical clinic and safety programs such as SafeWalk. There are regular nightly patrols of residence properties.

    Iona House suites come with kitchens. Students can purchase an optional meal plan for convenience—no need to cook or carry cash.

Iona House residents are connected with the Residence Life program that exists in Walter Gage. Residence Advisors work hard to promote a safe, inclusive and enjoyable community for residents, under the guidance of a Residence Life Manager. A Residence Advisor will live in Iona House and residents of Iona house will have access to on-call advisor in Walter Gage.
