I’ve applied. Now what?

You’re almost done! Just a few things left to do.

Did you rank your preferences?

Your residence application is not complete until you go online to rank preferred room types. You are also welcome to update your choices if you change your mind. We try our best to accommodate preferences but cannot make guarantees.

Do you need to send additional documents?

  • Students with disabilities must submit additional documentation demonstrating eligibility for priority access.
  • Applicants requesting accommodation at Green College and/or St. John’s College apply for membership to the colleges directly.
  • Applicants to Student Family Residence must send documents for all occupants—birth certificates, visas, passports and/or medical documentation—to our main office.

Request roommate groups

This is optional. Applicants can go online to request to live together before the deadline. You will need proper name(s) and student ID number(s). We try our best to accommodate these requests but cannot make guarantees.

If you receive a residence offer, you will need to pay a deposit within seven days of the offer date to secure your room. The deposit will be the combined total of your residence and meal plan first instalments: e.g., $2,200 ($900 Residence Fee + $1,300 Meal Plan Fee).

March—majority of Year Round Residence offers are sent.
June—offers sent to prospective students for Winter Session Residence.

Don’t miss the offer! Keep your email address and contact information current and keep us out of your junk/spam folder. Add these email addresses to your contact list: information@housing.ubc.ca; summer@housing.ubc.ca; yearround@housing.ubc.ca.

Go online regularly to check your application status and position in the waitlist. We send offers to students on the waitlist throughout the entire year to fill vacancies.
