Exchange is one of our newest residence communities at UBC. Home to over 650 students, Exchange offers an active, urban energy and a uniquely connected location. It is located alongside the UBC bus exchange and just steps from the UBC Aquatic Centre and Student Recreation Centre. The AMS Nest, UBC Life Building and many other campus amenities are right nearby.

Nano Suite
Nano suites pack a convertible desk/bed, full private bathroom, kitchenette and closet into a small but streamlined space. Fully furnished.
Studio
Suite includes desk and bed, kitchen area with table, closet, and separate bathroom. Fully furnished.
One Bedroom
Bedroom with a bathroom, kitchen, living area and eating area. Fully furnished.
Townhouse
Private bedrooms and bathrooms with shared kitchen, living area and eating area. Fully furnished.
Two Bedroom
Private bedrooms with shared bathroom, kitchen, living area and eating area. Fully furnished.
Four Bedroom
Private bedrooms with two shared bathrooms, kitchen, living area and eating area. Fully furnished.

Commonsblock
The hub for residence activities. Includes: Wi-Fi, activity and meeting rooms, group and private study spaces, lounge areas, exercise room and music practice rooms.

Sort It Out!
We strive to be a “Zero Waste†campus. Exchange has a large sorting area with collection bins for compost, household trash, recyclables, e-waste, and charitable donations.
Laundry Facilities
Machines operate on a convenient card system—no need to worry about coins. Facilities are located on the bottom floor.
Parking & Bicycle Storage
Limited monthly vehicle parking is available nearby for a fee. Bicycle storage hooks are available in each suite, with the exception of Nano suites. A bike storage room is located at the building entrance for those who do not have bicycle storage in their suite.
Outdoor Facilities
Basketball, tennis courts, playing fields and beaches are easily accessible. Nearby Pacific Spirit Regional Park has over 35 kilometres of multipurpose trails to explore.
Health & Safety
Residents have access to a campus medical clinic and safety programs such as SafeWalk. There are regular nightly patrols of residence properties.
Meal Plan
Exchange suites come with kitchens. Students can purchase an optional meal plan for convenience—no need to cook or carry cash.

UBC has been recognized internationally for its commitment to sustainable living. Many residences and rooms have modern sustainability features designed to reduce waste, energy consumption, and water use.

The Exchange Residence Life team consists of one Residence Life Manager and six Residence Advisors, plus numerous Front Desk staff who work hard to promote a safe, inclusive and enjoyable community for residents.
