There are so many perks to campus living!
All UBC residents have access to a variety of campus resources that support intellectual growth, healthy lifestyles, and personal safety. Life at UBC is truly a home-away-from-home where residents can pursue their academic and personal goals in a safe, comfortable, and fun environment.
Stay Connected

ResNet connects our residences to the internet and campus network. Depending on what residence area you are in, ResNet is delivered through either a hardwired port or wireless connection.
Easy Eating

At UBC, it’s easy to enjoy delicious, high-quality foods every day. Students who live in Orchard Commons, Place Vanier, and Totem Park purchase a required Residence Meal Plan. Students who are offered accommodation in other residences will have a kitchen, but can also enjoy added convenience and savings with a UBCcard Value Plan. Learn more about food at UBC.
Sustainability and climate action

Learn about sustainability features in residence, from low-flow water fixtures and LED lighting to building automation, that help increase building performance, reduce energy use, manage water consumption and ultimately reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Residence Life

At UBC, there’s always something to do and ways to meet people. All residences have fitness facilities and games rooms, and are surrounded by vast outdoor spaces for intramural sports, hiking, or beachcombing. There are also many opportunities to get involved in the residence community, like joining a committee or becoming a Residence Advisor. UBC is also well known for world-class athletics, museums, gardens, theatre, and guest speakers. UBC Recreation runs programs throughout the year.
Front Desk

Open from 7 am to 11 pm, seven days a week, this is the place to ask a question, pick up mail, rent game and sports equipment and more. Meet the team.
Overnight Mobile Team

Operating from 11 pm to 7 am, seven days a week, the Overnight Mobile Team is here to help with certain urgent, but non-emergency, situations overnight. For example, if you get locked out of your building or room, they’re the team to call. Meet the team.

How convenient! Each residence has laundry machines that are operated on a card system—no need to collect coins.
Maintenance Services

Getting something fixed is easy. Residents can use the Online Service Centre to request maintenance or repairs in their suite.
Transportation and Parking

UBC is a very walkable campus—flat and pedestrian-friendly, with everything inside a 15–20-minute walk and much of campus a car-free zone. So you don’t need to bring a bike or vehicle to get around.
