Roommate Assignments

Meeting and living with new people is one of the best parts about university living.

If you don’t request any roommates, you can anticipate living with other students who are around the same age and identify as the same gender—or identify as non-binary and indicated a preference for a single gender room or suite for students who identify as either women or men.

We also do our best to pair roommates who report similar lifestyle habits on the application form, but we can’t make guarantees.

How do I contact my roommates before move-in?

Use the Online Service Centre to contact your roommates before move-in.

Roommate requests

Apply online

Students can request to live together but we cannot guarantee requests will be accommodated. Roommate requests work best when you follow these steps:

  1. Submit all applications on the same date—with identical preferences (residence area, room type). In the Online Service Centre, apply under Prospective Residents >> Application >> Apply.
  2. Include each other’s student ID numbers.

Winter Session applicants

Submit roommate requests before the deadline listed on Important Dates.

Year Round applicants

Each person must choose the same move in date.
