We’re offering free small group training, yoga, zumba, mat pilates and cardio-core fitness classes in residence this term. If you live in UBC Student Housing, these sessions are for you!

Winter 2026 Schedule

What you need to know

  • No registration required. Just come on by!*
  • Sessions are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before class starts to sign a waiver.
  • Sessions are led by an instructor.
  • Fitness class attendees must be ages 13+
  • For yoga and pilates: please bring your own mat.
  • No classes on stat holidays and their adjacent weekends; schedule subject to change without notice.

*Small Group training sessions are limited to eight people, so arrive early to secure a spot.

Small Group Training Sessions

Every week, UBC Recreation’s friendly and knowledgeable Personal Trainers lead small groups through full-body workouts, ensuring good form and proper technique. Participants learn to use the fitness equipment safely and develop basic fitness knowledge and confidence. Stay active, increase your energy, and feel productive. Appropriate for all fitness levels.

Do I need to register?

Nope! All classes are drop-in.

Please note that classes have a limited number of people per session, depending on the size of the room they’re being held in. Arrive early to secure a spot. 

Will I be the only newbie?

Don’t know how to downward dog? Don’t worry, our awesome instructors will be there to help you, so don’t feel lost!

What should I wear/bring?

  • Dress in comfortable workout clothes and athletic shoes.
  • Bring a water bottle—fill up right from the tap.
  • For yoga and pilates: bring your own mat and, if you have them, yoga blocks.
