Mainly for new-to-UBC students who qualify for the First Year Guarantee.

Year Round Residence—typically May to April

For upper-year students, graduate students and student families.

Summer Residence—May to August

For UBC students who are studying or staying on-campus for the summer—or for visiting research students.

When applying, we’ll ask you to rank your room preferences. See what’s available and make a list. Remember: we try our best to accommodate these requests but cannot make guarantees.

Applying to live in Brock Commons?
Be aware that Brock Commons Phase 2 is being built nearby and there will be construction noise and traffic disruptions in the area. LEARN MORE.

Application fee

Please note that we require a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Do you need additional documents?

Some students will need to have additional documents ready.

  • Students with disabilities must complete additional documentation demonstrating eligibility for priority access to residence.
  • Applicants requesting accommodation at Green College and/or St. John’s College must apply for membership to the colleges directly.
  • Applicants to Student Family Residence must send documents for all occupants—birth certificates, visas, passports and/or medical documentation—to Student Housing and Community Services.
