Totem Park is for students new to UBC who want space and time for studying, the comforts of home, and a relaxed communal atmosphere perfect for making new friends. Students will always have someone to walk to class with, talk to, or have dinner with, all within a fun, safe and supportive environment.

  • Furnished rooms: 898 singles, 4 singles with private bathrooms, 529 connected singles, 273 shared rooms, 10 shared rooms with shared private bathrooms, 40 compact shared rooms, 11 one-bedroom suites
  • In-room bike hooks are available in həm̓ləsəm̓, q̓ələχən and c̓əsnaʔəm houses.

*Includes all room types, except for one bedroom apartments, which are only assigned to graduate students and do not have a required meal plan. Rates for one bedrooms are $1,385—$1,471/month.

    Totem Park residents don’t have to cook. All residents purchase an All Access Dining Plan, valid at more than 30 campus locations including Feast—Totem Park’s on-site dining hall.

    Sustainability is a shared value in residence. Totem Park has a large sorting area with collection bins for household recyclables, e-waste, charitable donations, and trash. The dining hall has an area to separate and compost food waste.

    Totem Park and Place Vanier have on-site tennis and basketball courts and many acres of green space. Nearby Pacific Spirit Regional Park has over 35 kilometres of multipurpose trails to explore.

    Residents have access to a campus medical clinic and safety programs such as SafeWalk. There are regular nightly patrols of residence properties.

Totem Park’s Residence Life team consists of two professional staff, nine part-time professional staff and more than 50 student staff, who work hard to promote a safe, inclusive and enjoyable community for residents.
